• Introduction

    Library promotes the higher education, supports the teaching and extension programme of the college of Agriculture. College Library started functioning at College Building in the year 2003 since its inception. The library is developing steadily and has been playing a vital role in providing all types of technological information to the students, teachers and scientists from Faculty of Agriculture
    The students appearing for ICAR, Agricultural, MPSC and other competitive examinations are greatly benefited by the services of Library.
    With the advent of Information Technology revolutionary changes are taking place in library services. Libraries have introduced IT-based services to its users. E-Books, Online e-Books (, Internet search Engines etc.

                    The library has various section viz Book Section, Back Volume Section, Current Periodical Section, Reference Section, Theses Section etc. the print collection are shelved in the respective sections in a systematic manner

    Book Section:
              There are 4367 books in the collection. Books are classified and catalogued according to Dewey decimal classification. College Library is using Library Management Software maintaining database of its collection.

    Current Periodicals Section:
              There are 20 research periodicals subscribed by library. All periodicals are arranged in this section, department wise and subject wise and alphabetical list of the same is displayed for the use of readers.

    Reference Section:
              Valuable collection of reference books on agriculture and allied subjects are shelved in this section. Multi volumes titles such as Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Directories, Yearbooks, Handbooks, JRF/SRF Competitive Exam, and Subject related to Agriculture   are available for the use of students in library premises only.
     Theses Section:
        At present library have 105 YCMOU theses in its collection. All these theses are arranged in this section department wise. Within each department alphabetical author wise arrangement is maintained
    Lending of Books:
        The books can be consulted within the library and can also be issued to the readers for home reading.
    Inter Library Loan: 
        Inter Library loan service is available to the members under which the books not available in the College Library are obtained from other libraries and made available to the members. Also the College Library makes available the books to other libraries when demanded.
    Computer and Internet Facility:
        To keep pace with recent development in the agricultural and related fields, computer facilities have been created as indicates, Computer cell consists of Local Area Network (LAN) successfully integrated and facilities like e-mail and Internet are made available to the students, staff.    
     Open Access: 
        The library is practicing open access system in which the users have a facility to access the books directly.
    Reprography Service
    The library provides reprography services (Xerox) to members of Library.

    Library Rules

    1. The member is issued certain number of Borrower's Ticket (BT) for borrowing books. The BTs are NOT TRANSFERABLE and member is responsible for any loss of book issued against his BT. On loss of BT member shall have to pay a fine of Rs.10/- per BT.
    2. If the book issued to the member is not returned on or before the due date, a late fee of Rs.5/- per day per book is charged.
    3. Member should not mark, underline or highlight the words or sentences in the book by pencil or by ink.
    4. The member is responsible for any damage caused to the book during the period it remains with him
    5. Borrower shall examine the condition of book before getting it issued in his name. The last borrower will be held responsible for any damage to the book.
    6. Do not pull the book from the shelf by holding its back cover. To take out a book from the shelf, first push back two or three adjacent books and then hold firmly the needed book at the middle of the spine and pull it lightly
    7. The book can be renewed for further period, if it is not required by any reader.
    8. Students or Staff should remark there In & Out time in Entry Register book.

    The library has framed certain rules for circulation of books so that all the members will have an equal opportunity to get the books. The membership is opened to bonafide students, faculty members. Members from different categories are entitled to get issued the books as follows:

    1) Students                          2   Books for 8 Days
    2) Teaching Staff                10  Books for a semester
